Emergency First Aid Course: 12th Feb 2012 £10
Aimed at parents who are willing to help out at the pool and on the beach this course will be held on Sunday 12th Feb beginning at 10am and will consist of 6 - 7 hours of training. There is no examination, the course is examined by continuous assessment. Successful completion of the course will lead to the awarding of the 'Emergency First Aid Certificate'.

Beach Life Guard Award: beg Weds 18th April 2012 £85
This is the Surf Life Saving GB Beach Lifeguard qualification. There are 3 levels within this award, which one you take will depend upon your age and ability.

SLSGB Beach Lifeguard Qualification can be taken from age 16 - This qualification allows you to lead safety cover and apply for a job with the RNLI and covers you for volunteering. It allows you to compete at any level (not including ski competency). 40 hours of training are required.
Full details of course requirements SLSGB Beach Lifeguard Support Qualification can be taken from age 14 - This qualification allows you to support lifeguards on the beach (not in the water). 25 hours of training are required.

This qualification allows you to assist with safety cover and to volunteer with the RNLI as beach patrol. You will need to register and pay for this course in advance. The course will run from Weds 18th April from 6.30 - 9.30pm on Weds and 9 - 12noon on Sat for 5 weeks at Woolacombe school. The examination will be on May 27th.
Proficiency Award: 1st - 3rd June 2012 £30
The proficiency award needs to be taken by anyone who has taken the above award and needs to redo the qualification annually. 20 hours of training are required.
