Woolacombe Masters

Picture
The Masters are finely honed athletes and the most perfect physical specimens you will find anywhere in the club and their great athletic prowess is exceeded only by their wit, humour and sophistication!

Actually the Masters section is open to all members over the age of 30 and whilst some of our Masters are indeed finely honed athletes some of us aren't! Masters training is available to all regardless of ability.

The Masters section provides training and facilities to participate in surf lifesaving events at local, regional and national levels. The Club provides the opportunity to obtain surf lifesaving qualifications at all levels.
The section tries to maintain a high profile organising a variety of events. The local community, including parents from other sections of our club are encouraged to join in, have fun, get fit and learn to respect and enjoy the beach and sea.

Masters Training

Masters/Seniors Stillwater Training starts on the  1st October 8 - 9pm at Barnstaple pool

Beginners Ladies session starts 2nd October 6.30pm

Woolacombe Masters, small but perfectly formed!...

Andy, Jason, Ali, Rich, Kevin, Nicola, Helen, Lara and Alice.

Well done to our team of nine, two of whom were competing for the first time, on their excellent performance in the Devon Masters competition at Ilfracombe.

Inspired by their efforts I'm sure that the rest of our Masters will be rushing forward to sign up for the Nationals in April.

Woolacombe Masters have had contacts with lifeguards in Gambia for several years and in December 2011 a group of our Masters went out to help to train Gambian lifeguards and to provide some equipment. As you can see from the photos the conditions are almost identical to Woolacombe on your average British summer's day!
